Why did I get “fake beans”? What hosts should know.

You may hear hosts call a gift “fake beans” when beans credited from a gift are later questioned, reversed or removed. The gift can look real when it arrives. A later payment dispute or account investigation may change what the host can keep. A reduced balance alone does not prove that any particular gifter committed fraud; ask BIGO or the agency to check the transaction.

How can it happen?

  1. A compromised account: someone gains access to a user’s account and sends diamonds or gifts without the owner’s permission.
  2. Unauthorized payment: diamonds are bought using a stolen or compromised card, and the cardholder disputes the charge.
  3. A payment reversal: a purchaser asks their bank to reverse a diamond purchase. The platform may investigate and adjust related transactions. A dispute is not, by itself, proof that the purchaser lied.

What should you do if you suspect a gift?

  1. Keep a record. Note the gifter’s BIGO ID, the date and time, the gift and estimated beans, and save screenshots of the gift history and any balance notice. Compare your records with the amount affected. Avoid guessing publicly who caused it.
  2. Ask politely, without accusing. You can say: “Hi, I noticed an issue with gifts from around our last live. Was there any problem with your account or payment? I’m checking it with the platform.” Do not ask for card details, passwords, codes or a replacement payment.
  3. Report it through the right channel. Send the details to BIGO support and the agency so the transaction can be reviewed. If the gifter says their account was hacked, encourage them to secure it and report the access too.
  4. Protect your room. If a person is confirmed to be misusing accounts or payments, stop engaging and block them. If they pressure you for a private arrangement, block and report them.

Reduce your risk going forward

  • Be cautious of unusually large gifts from a new account, especially when the sender demands something immediately in return. A large gift alone is not evidence of fraud.
  • Do not promise a gifter content, attention, a refund or a service you cannot or should not provide. Follow platform rules in every interaction.
  • Keep your own account secure with a strong unique password and available security checks. Never share login codes, even with someone claiming to be a supporter or agency staff.
  • Review your gift and bean history regularly. If a pattern repeats with the same account, document it and alert the agency promptly.

If your beans change unexpectedly, save the notice and transaction details before contacting New Breeds support. The platform’s review determines the actual reason and any adjustment.

FIELD NOTES / CONTENT

Build a live people want to come back to.

Going live is more than switching on a camera. Start with a simple promise: what kind of experience will someone have when they enter your room?

  • Choose one recognizable content direction that suits your personality.
  • Prepare an opening topic and a few questions before you begin.
  • Welcome new viewers and make space for conversation.
  • End by telling people what they can expect next time.

You can experiment. Keep the parts that feel natural and get people involved.

FIELD NOTES / GROWTH

Consistency is a skill. Here is how to practise it.

A schedule only helps when you can keep it. Choose realistic hours, plan around your life, and review your progress each week.

  • Set a small number of live slots and protect them.
  • Track your time and note which topics encouraged conversations.
  • Change one thing at a time so you can see what works.
  • Ask for guidance when you feel stuck rather than disappearing.

Growth varies by host. Focus on developing a repeatable process, not a promise of particular earnings.

FIELD NOTES / SAFETY

Protect your account while you grow.

Your live presence is valuable. Read the current platform rules, keep personal details private, and ask your agency before trying anything that could put your account at risk.

Never share your password with a recruiter. If you receive a violation notice, save the exact message and your BIGO ID, then ask the agency to review the case.
